Keep An Eye on ElBaradeis

Wael Abbas has just published an allegedly leaked document from state security in the Egyptian ministry of interior . I do not know how authentic this document is and I do not know how Abbas got it  , Abbas does not comment on it except that he got through his sources which he has all the right to keep  as a secret.
The document or rather report goes to March 2009 and it shows that the State security in brief is following the man and his family and friends in Egypt during his visit “This is fine considering the sensitivity of his position then “ and has prepared a detail extensive surveillance plan in case if he announced any attentions to run for presidency in 2012 !!?? According to this report all ElBaradei family’s phones are wiretapped. The date puzzles me some how because ElBaradei did not speak about presidential elections then directly , in fact I do not think he spoke about leaving the IAEA then !!??
I will not surprised or shocked if this is a true S.S document , it is logic ; for sure same thing happened to Ayman Nour and Noman Gomaa.
N.B I forget to say that this surveillance plan includes his wife’s family too !!
 Update :
  • When I re-read this document today I notice some point I forget to highlight last night ; what are these presidency elections we going to have in 2012 !!!!!!!!!!???
  • Thanks to Tafatefo I found another strange mistake : ElBaradei is staying in London according to this report !!??  ElBaradei's offspring are the ones who live in London as far as I know.
  • Also thanks to Tafatefo , we got this post from Ahewar forum and website by Mr. Amad Fawaz who claims that the S.S has been following certain people in Egypt since 2008 up till now because they are considered potential presidential candidates including Mohamed El-Fayed "this is a joke , right !!??". Mr. Fawaz also mentions in his post the files with dates and numbers.
  • Again as much as I believe that the S.S is following all those related to ElBaradei from near and far regardless of how authentic this document is

  1. Why are you shocked Z? We all know there are always at least 3 persons writing reports on ppl in every single place in Egypt, one reporting to one of the three security rings that monitor the Egyptians (amn dawla (state security), amn qoumy (national security) and mokhabarat (intelligence services). We all know that those who serve in one of these 3 entities are usually rewarded by higher positions at their place of work and we have a sad but clear example in most of our gov unis attesting to this. Also, its not a secret that any body who is any body in Egypt is monitored along with his family. It is also not a secret that those Egyptians who lived abroad and do not rely on the regime and happen to have some brains and want to do something for the country receive special security attention, regardless of what they are actually doing in Cairo and the allegation is always ready to condemn this person as a traitor etc. Finally, we all know that no other person than Mubarak and as of late, Gamal are allowed to be liked by the people and so, once it seems that the ppl like the person or respect him he must be taken out we have Ganzoury, Gewely and Amr Mossa as very clear and loud examples of that mentality. Finally, I know there are honest ppl in the parliament and the upper exec positions, but they remain the minority and those are the very few who managed to get there bec they had the necessary skills and qualifications. They are the ones trying to do something but be sure once one of them tries to challenge what the regime wants they get threatened, directly or indirectly and we all know when the threats include more than your job and extends to the future of your kids or family in general it becomes very difficult to walk away. The very sad truth is that those running the country for real are in fact related one way or the other be it by family bonds or business bonds Believe it or not the business bond seems to be very strong and extends on so many levels among them for eg do you expect a police officer who got his place in the academy by bribing a PM to be able to say no to any person with that type of info about him, when asked to do something against the law? do you expect a judge who has been taking bribes to say no when asked to help in rigging the election results, while being threatened with a video or audio recording the bribery?Do you expect the regime to sacrifice some businessman who runs one of their many businesses??

  3. Just a naive question...

Shouldn't there be any Court-order or DA-warrant to monitor all those people's phones, follow their every move, write down everything they say to their wives and family in a 'daily detailed report'?

... and even if 'Kanoon Al-Taware2', or any of its derivatives, gives the SS the right to do so... but is Mr. Al-Baradie a terrorist to have his wife tapped? is his distant cousin an Israeli Spy to deserve to have someone listen to his daughter's phone calls, write them down and file them for other ppl to read?!!!

Moreover, isn't the presidential elections a political Affair, shouldn't the SS be totally neutral? didn't everybody just swear on their mother's graves that we are "dawlet mo2asasaat" whatever that is?

yet, I think the real significance this document has is that it highlights the real need behind "kanoon Al-Taware2" and what has become to our rights (anybody still remember those?)

I'm waiting for "the Public Assembly"'s response or the DA's reaction to this document,IF ANY.
